Tax Senior Associate
The role will provide tax compliance and advisory services for a wide range of personal and company tax clients. The primary responsibility will be to deal with all matters relating to the management of a mixed portfolio of clients. You will also provide assistance to the Senior Tax Manager and Tax Director in both client work and in developing the tax department.
You will be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines, have excellent interpersonal skills together with an ability and interest in understanding your clients’ business. Ideally you will have UK and/or Jersey tax experience and hold a professional tax and/or accounting qualification (ATT, CTA, ACCA etc) or have a willingness to undertake a professional tax qualification. This role is ideal for someone looking career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Tax Senior Manager, responsible for all day to day tax compliance affairs and involved with related advisory matters.
- Provide an efficient and proactive service to clients and ensure that the clients’ needs are identified and fully met.
- Manage a mixed client portfolio of personal and company clients maintaining regular client contact and taking personal responsibility for progressing engagements.
- To control cost budgets, meet reporting timetables, prepare key client reporting documents.
- Producing high quality work for Manager/Director review.
- Identify and consult with Tax Senior Manager and Tax Director on risk and technical matters, with a solutions focused approach.
- Participate in bid/proposals for new work as requested.
- Support junior team members with professional development.
- Day to day contact with members of the Tax team and wider firm so that strong working relationships are developed.
- Have a genuine interest in understanding your clients’ business with the drive to deliver exceptional client service.

Experience
- Ideally candidates will have previous experience of local tax compliance
Education
- Professional tax or accounting qualification or able to demonstrate a desire and commitment to study for a professional tax qualification.
- Ideally educated up to degree level or equivalent experience

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
- Act as a responsible representative of the firm in all client dealings
